Hunting with Your Own Dogs
You are welcome to bring your own dogs with you on your hunt, we just have a few rules that must be followed.
Spearpoint Ranch Dog Policy
- Dogs are not allowed in the lodge under any circumstances due to state licensing. You will need to bring a crate to leave your dog overnight.
- Dogs will not be allowed inside the cabs of the hunt trucks; all hunt trucks have dog boxes that can easily accommodate your dog.
- We expect that guest dogs should be well-trained and under the control of the owner/handler at all times. Dogs will not be allowed to run free around the lodge. Please bring a leash to walk your dog if necessary.
- We occasionally have some far-ranging dogs or inexperienced dogs out; you will be disappointed with dogs that cannot be kept within 30-40 yards (shooting range), as most pheasants will not hold for a pointing dog for an extended period of time. Wide running dogs will effectively bump all birds out of range, thus leading to a poor experience and a lack of success for both you and the others in your group.
